Rolls Royce Workshop
A group of Aerospace Engineers visited Bedminster Down School last week to engage pupils into the dynamic and rapidly developing world of Engineering. The Rolls Royce engineers worked with a group of year nine students teaching them about the theory of flight and supporting them with building hand launched gliders. The students involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained a valuable insight into a range of different Engineering career paths. Excitingly, Bedminster Down School has now been invited to compete against other schools in the regional finals this February.
The Rolls Royce engineers also provided year 10 pupils with a valuable opportunity, enabling them to ask questions about future engineering careers and sharing their own experiences of the apprenticeship programme which the company offer Filton. The career guidance was greatly received by our pupils and many of them have been inspired towards a future career in Engineering.
